A Leap of Faith into Rugby

We’re delighted to announce our latest sponsored athlete, Hannah Michie of Marr Ladies Rugby

When Hannah Michie joined the Marrlequins six months ago, she took a leap into the unknown. With no prior experience in competitive sports or team games—and having never attempted the infamous “bronco” fitness test—her journey into rugby is nothing short of inspiring.

Hannah recalls the moment that changed everything: “I saw the girls play at Murrayfield, and I thought to myself—why am I watching from the sideline? So I leapt. Two feet together, all in.”

What followed has been a transformative six months for Hannah, both on and off the pitch.

Finding a Team, Finding Herself

Through rigorous training sessions and the camaraderie of her teammates, Hannah says she has found more than just a sport: “Our training has been challenging, fun, and has given me the best community of new friends who I know have my back on and off the pitch. On a personal note, playing with the Marrlequins has filled a hole in my life that I didn’t know I had and my family and friends say they have never seen me happier or more confident and passionate than when I play rugby. ” she says.

A Season of Growth and Determination

With Hannah taking her new-found love of rugby extremely seriously, it has led to her playing in every single game:

“So far this season, I’ve played in every match with our forward pack. My knowledge, strength and determination has only grown and I’m excited to see what my future at Marr Rugby holds.”

The Bigger Picture – Lomond Supporting Local Talent
