Drongan History

The village’s origins date back to medieval times, with the ruins of Drongan Castle serving as a reminder of its earlier significance. However, it was the rise of coal mining that truly shaped Drongan’s development, with the community largely built around the pits and the families of the miners who worked in them.

Following the decline of the coal industry in the mid-20th century, Drongan faced economic challenges but has since transitioned into a primarily residential area. Today, it serves as a commuter village for nearby towns like Ayr and Kilmarnock.

Joe at Lomonds was really helpful all the way through the process. He was always available quickly, gave great advice & ended up going back several times to sort things during the 2 months between me moving out & the purchasers moving in.The photographer that Lomonds use did a great job of making my house look even more amazing than it was & Lomonds marketing strategy was spot on my. Lomond have recently sold 2 properties for us, as well as previous properties. I would just like to thank Lomond Property and in particular, Lesley Ann for her outstanding service and professionalism. My sale wasn't the easiest by any stretch of the imagination, however she persevered and we sold the property on the 3rd attempt having 2 sales fall through.
