Clarkston is known for its connection to the famous comedian and actor Sir Harry Lauder.

Lauder, one of the most popular entertainers of the early 20th century, lived in a mansion called Lauder Ha’ in the Clarkston area. The house, which was built in 1903, became a local landmark and was often the site of social gatherings and charity events. Although Lauder Ha’ no longer stands, Sir Harry Lauder’s legacy continues to be remembered in Clarkston and beyond.
